I put 19 eggs into lockdown and 19 hatched all very healthy and vigorous!! I am shocked I got this good of a hatch my first time around!

and I know exactly what you mean about the life expectancy of foam 'bators. I have two and they are both locked in the spare room. They weren't that interested while I got them running nicely on the kitchen bench (empty) but you can imagine the affect chirping babies would have had!

that is AWESOME....

I am also trying my hand at incubating some Silkie chicks as i could not pass up the oppotunity with a borrowed bator. and a first time hen who thought it would be a good idea to start laying eggs in -12 degree weather.
i came with the bator and i had 19 eggs to put in it and at the last minute she made it an even 20!
they are due Feb 13
