So today I went to take my eggs out of the turner to set for lockdown, and to my shock, I saw an external pip and heard chirping! I immediately closed the incubator, squirted some water in there, started the hot shower in my bathroom, and brought the incubator in. I had no choice but to open it again so I could get the egg turner out and set the eggs at bottom of incubator. I misted the eggs during this since I had 40+ to move, so it wasn't as quick as I hoped.
My first question is will they be okay? my humidity was low because I was setting for lockdown tonight. It was at 35%. The most pipped membrane looked white, but yellowish next to the shell.
My second question is why? My temp was a steady 99.5, humidity was 30-40%. If my incubator had "hot spots" wouldn't the eggs close together look like they are in the same stages of development? I candled yesterday and noticed some eggs looked more filled than others, but assumed it was the position of the embryos. I feel like I failure! No sleep for me tonight...
