I'm 5-7/day with 7 hens. Ages unknown as they are all rescues. But I know three of them are 4-5 years old and they contribute 1-2 daily.

Our 1st egg!

We just got our flock of adolescent/young adult chickens and ducks yesterday. Assuming they are all female, this would be 1/10 egg count for today.

Got my first white egg today! Nutmeg is a Polish hen that I thought for sure was broken. Almost 6 1/2 months old.

That made my count 4/7.

Our Buff Orpington Buttercup was affectionatly dubbed "Butterdud" after nearly reaching 7 months! She's the biggest chicken we have, and she lays the smallest eggs! Go figure!

It was a glorious 5/5 egg day today! This March we had a four day streak of 5/5, until Buttercup [Butterdud],and Blossom slacked off. Myrtle is an Australorp, Daisy is a Delaware, Blossom is a Silverlaced Wyandotte, Buttercup [Butterdud] is a Buff Orpington, and last but not least, my faithful little Olive, she is a mix. Her mother: Araucana/ her father: French Blue Maran,

So that means she lays the most beautiful olive green eggs!
