Today's egg count! What's yours?

Hello

From southern California, near San Diego, my ten girls were busy yesterday producing 7 eggs. I have 4 - four buffs (1 currently broody), 1 barred rock, 1 welsummer, 1 ameraucana and 3 french morans.

. The wind blew the door to the run closed while we were gone so they couldn't access the coop or nests. Note to self "prop the door open".

I use a very low-tech method to hold my chickens' run door open: a closed loop of straw bailing string. One 'end' is looped through itself on a fixed metal ring attached to the coop; the other end slips onto the door's latch when in the open position. It has never fallen off.

BTW: 4 eggs from 5 hens today.

We have 5 chickens. And they lay between 4-5 a day. When the weather cools off they slow way down to sometimes... none. 4 different breeds.)

5/5 today in North Carolina. 2 Austroplorps and 2 Barred Rocks (2 years old in May), and even got one from my perimenopausal sex-linked, Gladys.

I have 24 Golden Sex Link hens and today(4/7/14) I got 20 eggs. Weather is warming up here in SW Montana and the girls are responding quite well.

I cant believe how big our eggs have been. Can you hatch eggs this big if they have double yolk? I mean do they hatch with servival rates:woot
