TODAYS THE DAY!!!!!!!!!

2 days shy of 18 weeks.

My ladies have been showing signs of being ready for awhile now. This morning one of them got out and instead of running away when I tried to catch her, she.......uh...........offered herself........naughty little girl..........


So I got excited and ran to the nesting box and 2 little eggs!!!!!

Congratulations! That's so exciting when they start to lay.

Yay! That's so exciting!! I just found two little white eggs yesterday from a couple of my younger ones. It's such a joy

I've heard of people doing wacky things or being scared to eat the first eggs. Throwing them over the house, blowing them out and saving the shell, cooking them and giving them back......

I chose egg salad!

I gave the shells back to them though.


Also, I thought they were supposed to be soft shell? These were normal, but I gave them access to oyster shells and have always given them spent egg shell.

Maybe that's whyy first were normal?
