i have fallen down stairs while holding a child, it hurt me, she was fine, instincts took over and i protected her

when i landed at the bottom my husband looked at me and was like what-the-truck!!! what is wrong with you!! came running over and took said child from me
obviously i fell on purpose
she was laughing the entire time

Had I been holding her, I did consider that instinct would kick in (who hasn't fallen while holding a child?). With her a few steps down... I just keep thinking about my foot getting caught in the handle of the basket, me going flying, knocking her down... Scary!
