Today was supposed to be "the day!" I have my car seat, and my family. My mother is coming with my 10-yr-old niece, and we were supposed to go out for lunch and shopping. I was not going to change Duckling into a disposable anything. I of course would be prepared with extra clothes, and something to sit on if she did have an accident in the car seat.
Then I spoke to my mother yesterday, and she is already whining about getting here, having lunch and leaving. Then she texted me last night. My closest sister is meeting us for lunch with her husband. Great! No. No. Not great.![]()
"Pick a place to go. Your sister says that there is a nice Italian restaurant nearby. We can go there!" I suggested somewhere else (Chuck E Cheese, okay?! I suggested Chuck E Cheese! Duckling can have fun, and I can be the one to give it to her!). I was shot down.
Now, I have a decent sized Italian restaurant in town that just expanded, and I want to see what they did. But that isn't the place we are going to. NOPE! We are going to a hole in the wall next to a tanning salon. The food is okay most of the time, and the service is the worst you can get. It is dark to hide the mice and bugs. The springs in the seats are shot, and you practically sit on the floor.![]()
I am not bothering with showing off that Duckling is potty trained today. It is going to be so stressful, I don't need to find a puddle in a chair because Duckling was too dizzy from the noise to say that she had to go.
I do not like my mother. She is nastier than a viper this morning! Too early to be this annoyed. Happy Birthday to me!![]()

In other news, the niece that has a name very similar to mine (She may or may not have been named for me) FaceTimed me last night. She can't wait to see Duckling today! She has never actually met her. So the two are talking, and Duckling was blowing kisses and saying "I love you" to my other niece. When I got off the phone, Duckling turned in her chair, and said, "my friend *a**y will be here soon!"![]()
