Game hens - better broody mamas even than silkies or cochins.  They will absolutely die for their chicks.  I once saw one fly after a Cooper's hawk that had snatched up one of her chicks.

Well, heck. My initial reaction was one of shock, and profusely thanking WV and a little bit of the others for making you curious about their whereabouts. I thought I was wrong, and deleted all that. Alas, I am not enough to lure someone to my thread.

Not sure that is true, but it may help in keeping the riff raff out. I predict that in time CTKen will appear and Berts also if he has not already arrived.
