Toddlers are Quackers

Once upon a time, there lived a duck that was hiding her eggs.
One day the cook found the hidden nest, and stole the eggs! Little did the cook know that the eggs had been kept warm enough to begin developing...
Three or so weeks later, the cook was making bread pudding while her Duckling slept. As she cracked the first egg into the bowl, it exploded! Showering the cook with blood and a foul fowl stench! And depositing a partially formed duckling into the bowl.
The cook cleaned herself and the area up (it wasn't that rotten. It just had some pressure).
The next egg was a double yolk chicken egg. Which was cracked on the counter (not her head) and left tiny shell fragments in the bowl. The next was a pullet egg with more spots in it than the cook was comfortable with in the recipe.
She then ran upstairs to get her Duckling. Telling her all about her adventure as they went downstairs.
Back in the kitchen, she finished her recipe while tending to the adorable babe.
After fetching fresh eggs from the coops, the two returned to the farmhouse. The cook was pleased with the tempting aroma of cinnamon and raisins... Until the stench of the duck egg invaded her nostrils. :th

Extremely gross & yummy all at the same time. I never crack an egg that I don't float first (especially the quail eggs.) Those suckers can bury an egg so well you never see it, then suddenly it pops up like its brand new. None of mine are fertile tho. Geez I would've barfed!

The bread pudding looks good. I actually made that a week or two ago and then made an apple variation of it as an experiment. I caramelized the apple chunks in a skillet with brown sugar and butter till they just started to soften then added them to the baking pan. I also added extra cinnamon, some clove and some allspice. Made a great treat.
