I've heard stories about southerners eating squirrel. I have never considered it! Is there a wierd thing we eat in the northwest that you find unusual?

I was raised in Seattle area - and my love of ranch on everything, seems weird to people. BBQ sauce is like a staple down here. LOL

Do you have fox and or red squirrels there?

We have some Fox, but squirrels stick to town. There are a few wherever there are trees though! Only ever had to shoot one Fox raiding the henhouse in 23 years of raising chickens.

There is still a tradition among family ranches that have been here for a long time, during branding, roasting the testicles over the branding fire for rocky mountain oysters. Some old ranchers don't even roast em!

Fresh unroasted ones probably slide down pretty easily.

Yeah and they aren't very big since they are making steers out of the calves. Lil baby testes.

lol, reminds me of when my FIL went to sturgis for the first time and had no idea what rocky mountain oysters were. He LOVED them!!! then found out what they were, i think he would still eat them though if he was out west again
