Toddlers are Quackers

I would never knowingly eat a rocky mountain oyster. Even the thought of it has me sitting here cross legged with a book in my lap!! ewwww

When I asked about your squirrels Bantambird I meant Grey not red. Red are the ones most people think of out west and further north than me.

They are little rat like creatures that cause nothing but damage.

I have eaten grey and fox squirrels, however, I find it tough and not worth the work to clean them. Only back legs have any meat. Now I just shot them and put their heads on a pike to warn the others to stay out of my chicken feed.

We only have the little red ones here, and they aren't populous enough to be a bother unless you live in town. Or near a forest that doesn't burn down every few years.

Princess has a new favorite. Baked oatmeal! I will post the recipe once I have a chance to write out the whole thing on this phone. You can make it gluten free if you use certified oats, although my kids aren't sensitive as far as I know.

I've heard stories about southerners eating squirrel. I have never considered it! Is there a wierd thing we eat in the northwest that you find unusual?

My mother has a recipe for Squirrel Stew. :sick
My husband had a friend whose wife made Squirrel pie... The feet were sticking up from the crust. :lau

Ralphie, aren't you from lutefisk land?

I am but one tasted of that cured me from eating rotten fish the rest of my life! Have you ever tried it? If I had to chose between your oysters and lutefisk,,,,,That wound be a hard one. Bring me the squirrel.

Another tasty treat, this one from the south "boiled Peanuts" It can go in the list with Lutefisk!

I had a Norwegian great grandmother. Mom's maiden name is Onstad, so I've had the infamous" jello fish" as I call it. Hey, add enough butter and it will taste like rubbery butter!
