Toddlers are Quackers

I had a bird die on me. Luckily I got it necropsied, and of all things, it was killed by pneumonia! One of its lungs were black!
that stinks

glad you were able to have her necropsied

Weird, only one bird is sick? I thought it would be more if it was pneumonia. I thought it was contagious.
it is not, i recommend reading this highly praised post

I read it.

I understand what she said, I also did a quick google and found an article from a university in the UK, It appears there are two types of Pneumonia (or more) a fungal or bacterial one that can be spread and the one in the post where it is caused by something else.

I was not thinking of "situational" as being a true pneumonia but I think it is anything that fills the lungs with fluid, I think..

Of course, I would defer to a Vet on any of this....

I think it might be semantics we are talking about.

https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/health-topics/topics/pnu/ This winter has been tough on birds lungs, wet, cold warm, moist.

i would agree on this but i also wonder how it would spread
i think i need to do more research

Mom was out for the week working on their house( mom and dad are building their dream house out at the family ranch just the 2 of them) so Dr Anderson did it. She stated it looked like a lung infection, because the right lung was black, and stated, it looks like pneumonia, but didn't take a cell sample or anything, and I dragged Esther along since she has stated multiple times that she will be a veterinarian like grandma only for birds, so I invited her to watch with the understanding that this is a big part of veterinary medicine, especially with birds and flock health. We both agreed that winter has been rough on the birds this year, and she also may have inhaled food while eating.

:lau I admit Duckling has been using Pull-Ups. Duckling can go 24 hours without peeing herself. But! When she's wearing underwear, it's a whole new ballgame! I'm on pins and needles!

Lol I agree with this. Princess, however, tosses hers as soon as she sits on the potty, whether she wets them or no. Aaargh! I ain't made of money, child!

Duckling was sent to the laundry room for her boots. She returned carrying fresh underwear. She is funny.
The cloth of panties makes it hard for her to know where both leg holes are. She keeps putting both legs in one hole. :lau
