Toddlers are Quackers

We had quince in our yard in NS.
They are growing in a field we rent to hay every year. Part of an old orchard, I'm guessing, of pears. One pear tree still stands, it even bears every year, and two quince. I figured out what they were after I realized that those might be rootstock to pears since quince are often grafted to quince roots, and likely the pears died years ago and the roots grew up. This seems even more likely because the two quince and the pear are planted like three points on a square. They are boxed in on three sides by wild plums.

I bought 5T snow pants in ‘16. I bought this pair because they had an extra hem that could be cut to extend the length. I just hoped they would fit in ‘17 too. There are so many extenders on these pants, I really think they will fit through the next two winters!
The waist extender has more slack, the shoulders do, and I still have that hem I can cut. It’s crazy!

:lau It was a cold day in the forties when I decided that I had better not wait for a sale to buy the coat Duckling wanted. It arrived last Thursday, when it was in the seventies. I wavered on the boots, deciding I’d better get them now too. It was more about wanting to be sure the stuff was available. You know how fast things can go when there’s a good sale.
As of yesterday, both items, different stores, are $10 off. :he
Seriously, I’m not sorry. She has everything she needs for this winter... which might be as soon as next week.

The nursery used to be downstairs, in a bedroom turned office and full bathroom (outhouse was used until the 60’s). I put her upstairs almost three years ago. Now it’s back downstairs. I’m not complaining. Preparing to bring the box spring down, I asked Duckling to bring her toys down throughout the day. She suddenly started piling her stuffed animals on it. “They can just ride down with you. Be brave, guys!” :lau:lau
