Toddlers are Quackers

:gig As children, we only got gum if we were on a long trip, and it was sugar free. I see the logic! So when Duckling requested gum in her Easter piñata, I was lost. She doesn’t get gum from me because she’s not still long enough. She said I gave it to her for Christmas, and it starts with an “S”, maybe a “t” afterwards. She kept giving hints, but I was lost. After a good ten or so minutes, I realized she doesn’t know gum isn’t a candy, so any chewy candy could be it. I tried Laffy Taffy. Then FINALLY STARBURST DUOS! :th :gig My head hurts from trying to figure it out.

Greetings, parental units. I hope homeschooling is going well, and everyone is healthy. I’m wrapping up a quail hatch. Duckling is away at the moment, and missed seeing them hatch. Since you know how things have been, you know how the darling is. I’m unsure how she was getting out of online classes, but I leaned on her father to get them done. Not daily apparently, but :duc
We read here, and she has to read to me. Math, science, shop class, Home ec, and music appreciation are done without issue. We learned that rocks can’t be dyed, saws are hard to use, and electric screwdrivers are fun.

She knew I wanted her to read to me, though I wasn’t forcing it. She chose a Winnie the Pooh book with big words, and tried her best. I was so proud of her for sounding out the words, and not giving up. At one point, there were several difficult words in a row. I whispered a cheer after each word. She began playing with me by looking up after every word for praise. The thing is, while she was relaxed, and playing, she didn’t hesitate on words. She said each word quickly because she wasn’t overthinking it. :yesss:

Yesterday, we collected eggs. She dropped some into her chicken net, and of course two cracked. The dog was given both. Then two more broke when the wind blew them off the table. The dog had already had a dozen yolks, plus the two broken eggs, so the baseball bat came out. She threw one up, and hit it across the driveway. Then the second... came down, and covered her! :gig

I bought the last jug of bubbles at Walmart yesterday. I see that a lot of items that were out of stock yesterday, are now available, but not bubbles. I’m actually proud of myself! :gig I would have been happy with a puzzle, but they were completely wiped out of those.
Am I evil for being proud of getting the last one?

Nope, you scored!

Went to Meijers (East Lansing, Mich) this morning, and the employees had facemasks on their heads --somewhere-- some even over their noses and mouths! Some shoppers weren't wearing facemasks of any sort still. Maybe in an invisible force field?
I got home, sprayed everything down, washed clothes and shoes, and showered. HATE shopping, but still healthy. Yes!
