Toenail Clipping???

Hello, I have 4 6 week old chicks. I have heard of clipping chickens toenails but don't know if I should or how to do it. My chicks toenails are getting kinda sharp. Input please?

I have never heard of people clipping them....hmm...And it normal for them to be a bit sharp

I clip toenails but they don’t like it Two of mine have long nails that can grow really long. The other ones are good and I don’t have to do theirs. Of course, it sounds like I’m killing them while they get their pedicure but afterward they are fine. I use dog nail clippers and offer treats so they don’t hate me too bad.

Really shouldn't be necessary if they're allowed to scratch around on the ground, as that'll help wear down the points.

Thank you for the advice. They are going outside regularly now, but it is a bit cold so not for too long.
