tomatoes!

I have 4 chickens in an enclosed run. yesterday i cut a tomatoe in half and threw it in.

i have never seen anything funnier!

2 chooks grabbed the tomatoe and ran around the run, and the other 2 chased. the tomatoes kept changing beaks!

talk about exercising the girls!!!!!

I call it football. Mine do it with feathers as well. One will grab it run around then another will grab it & run around. Their like a bunch of kids.

Mine do that too with slugs - one will get one and then the chase is on!

lol, yeah totally get that - today i let them play the same game ............. thought it was more like rugby!

Nobody believes me but my chickens dont care for tomatoes. Tried it all last summer. I hope they learn to like them this summer. Got five tomatoe plants.

Tomatoes are my favorite to give my chickens. SO much fun to watch!!! I also learned the hard way not to wear sandals in the coop with a red pedicure. My chickens thought my toes were tomatoes!
