So i pull in my drive way about 20 minutes ago and saw a huge wild tom outside my turkeys pen. At first I thought "oh cool, my turkeys are driving in wild turkeys"...until I saw the damage. The turkey quickly scattered off into the brush, I looked in the pen and there was blood drops all over the ground. Upon further investigation I noticed blood on the fencing about 4 feet high and dents all over. I'm concerned about what'll happen if a wild tom grows enough courage to fly into the pen..death will surely find its way to my Tommy boy..as he has no spurs.
there was blood outside the pen as well, as if the wild tom had been injured as well. Maybe from mine peeking at him..I don't know. But now my Tommy is bleeding from his foot...an injury I'm sure he sustained from protecting his 3 female hens. Anyone have this happen and if so what was the result? Is there anything I can do?
