I've lived in Phoenix for 24 years and never remember an end of August like this one.

Forecast.... for Saturday through Wednesday.... Wednesday will be the first non Hi Temp Record Day.

Mahonri, I think you need to visit the east coast. The only thing that is bad this year is the mosquitos. Other than that we have had a beautiful summer. Even the humidity has not been too bad. Sorry to hear about the heat.

The east has had tornadoes, microbursts, even an earthquake, and now Irene is coming. The weather has been beautiful the rest of the time though!
 
I wish I could take time off in September to watch the leaves turn in New England... I've always wanted to do that. Perhaps someday...

A year ago today I was having fun in Washington D.C. It was very nice then.
 
It's been a scorcher. 48 years here in AZ and Phoenix broke a record today for this late date at 117 degrees. I believe some other cities were hotter than that. It was still 114 at 7pm?? in Glendale. Looks like we'll be having another 75+ degree christmas day.

And wouldn't you know it, hottest day of this month so far and one of my main livestock misting lines burst. At least it waited until later in the day to do it.

Cold country sure would be nice a change of pace right now but we don't have to shovel heat so for that I'm thankful.
