I just started gathering my eggs on Monday and was going to until friday... It is going to plumit tonight. 18 degrees and be barely above freezing the next 3 days. I check as often as I can. My light comes on at 3 am in my Leghorn coop, I don't get out there til 7 am. There is always already 2 in there. My ? is. If its been a few hours before I get them will they still be ok to hatch? I mean I know they won't if they are frozen and busted!

Frozen eggs barely ever hatch but you may be able to hatch any unfrozen ones. It's worth a try anyway! Good luck!

I think it would depend on the temperature of your coop, not the outside temp.

Pretty much the same as outside. They are not heated coops..

Refrigerated eggs have been known to hatch, so though not the best conditions, I would check as often as possible, and bring them in and hope for the best.

If they are only chilled and not frozen they will be fine. Hasn't been above zero in days here. My coop hovers around 10*. I have eggs that were chilled in the bator right now. 1 out and 4 more pips!
