Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

When we find Narragansetts, still not sure what we’ll have them for other than pets. How long until you can butcher them? Wonder if organic free ranging tastes good 🤔
Bet it tastes fine, we like our heritage turkeys at about 7 months with lots of grains the last 2 to 4 weeks... well when we dont poof decide to butcher a tom on the spot. I do not have the luxury to free range any of my poultry, too many predators both air born and ground bound.

I get organic free range turkey from a lady near me that breeds and processes turkey for Thanksgiving. It's really expensive but sooooo delicious.

I am on day 10, and there has been 1 egg I’ve been keeping my eye on. It’s on track for development, but the embryo never moves. It is growing, lots of good veining, but lays right next to the side of the shell, with no movement, same spot every time. I don’t have much hope for it, but I don’t have the heart to pitch it because it’s still alive. I’ve never experienced this before, it’s a little creepy.
But the other 25 eggs look beautiful! I didn’t think fertility would be quite so good, might need a bigger brooder plate!

Day 18 for my 4 little ameraucana eggs. I candled last night & they are looking full. And even saw some movement in 3 of the 4. It amazes me that they are able to move inside there, everything looks so cramped. Getting ready to lock them down, and hope for the best.

:fl Fingers crossed for a great hatch!

Darn it! Last Legbar is a male.
