I LOVE incubating duck eggs cuz they are SO MUCH fun to candle, they are bigger and easy to see into. I am helping the local FFA class with their poultry unit so I donated eggs to hatch. we started with 13 duck and 7 turkey eggs and they still have 11 duck and 6 turkey still going that are due next wednesday the 12th. they set over 40 chicken eggs a week after the turkey and ducks so they are due tuesday the 11th. I got a lot of the chicken eggs from other folks and we had quite a few that didn't grow, and a few that went bad. I am excited to see what hatches!

Do any of you put electrolytes or probiotics in the water for new babies?

Fluffy butts are coming out! Congrats :)

Most feed stores have a new chick probiotic/electrolytes you add to their water. I normally add it to the first jug or two, then start regular water. We’re on well water and they have been doing fantastic with this mixture.

No social media accounts here. Life is much more simple!

Haha I absolutely understand that! I’m not much of a “social media person” but couldn’t help make an Instagram for all the pretty chicken pictures. 🤣

I have packets of the save-a-chick electrolytes and probiotics in my first aid kit so I’m all stocked up if I decide to use them. We are also on well water.

I don't, I just offer fresh clean water. If I have a chick that seems to be struggling at all I will offer some Nutridrench for Poultry diluted in water and dripped on the side of the chicks beak.

Not as a habit but I have poultry Nutridtench on hand if I need it. I'll use it on "rough" hatches or store bought chicks.

That eggs looks excellent. Great membrane color and nice zip. You should have a chick in short order.

Omggggg baby is here!!!!
