Too Early for Feb Hatch-A-Long Thread??

I’m planning my very first hatch!!!! I’m ordering a Nurture Right 360 today and some hatching eggs off of eBay. I probably won’t get them until the 10th or 11th of this month. I’m ordering from a couple different sellers which is probably a bad idea but they both agreed to ship on the same date so I’m crossing my fingers. I imagine I’ll set the eggs on the 13th or so. They will be early Feb. babies!

What are you hatching next month?

My husband probably would have told me to do the same thing and I probably would have been really hurt over the whole situation.

Woke up this morning to a little chick experiencing spraddle leg...couldn’t find the vet wrap so I improvised with a couple of rainbow loom rubber bands & a small section of plastic straw. Amazed at how quickly little guy is hobbling around!

Silkies on the 18th and Salmon Faverolles on the 19th here. It seems like sooo long but I need to get the broody pen situated and my broody moved and settled so I can give her some babies after they hatch!

I honestly don't know what I would do if someone sold my birds from underneath me. Especially if it was my Squatch!

He is so happy that I am home and he definitely knew that I was not here! When we drove in the driveway he started dancing when he saw me and flapping his wings

Yesterday I sat on the ground and was talking to them. My husband came out and asked me why I was sitting on the cold ground after I had just been sick I told him I was talking to my friends!

I was talking to cheese yesterday, she is my pekin duck. She is so loud and funny My ducks decided to start laying eggs when I wasn't home! they must be pretty good eggs because the dogs didn't complain about them when I made them some yesterday.

How did you make it

I did it loosely based on this:

Took two small rainbow loom bands (you know the tiny rubber bands the kids make bracelets with?) and looped them together to basically make a chick ankle loop on both ends. Then I fed it through the short piece of straw with a toothpick, and put either end around the chick's leg, just above the toes. The length of straw forces the feet to plant at standard "shoulder" width apart and the silicone rubber bands hold well, but not too tightly.

I'm due between now and the 20th first set is 4 eggs in the hatcher now supposed to hatch by Wed and then two other sets to go before the 20th.
