I’m in a tropical country. It’s summer here by the way l. Our humidity is plying between 68 to 84% and temperature of 28 to 32°C. Am doing dry hatch using 4 incubators 3 hb and a cabinet and getting humidity readings from 55-61%. At lockdown and hatch, i can hit 65 with no effort. I believed my failed hatch are due to wet sticky or swollen chicks since my humidity are still way high from day 1-18. I’ve tried using the rice and paper towel methods but to no avail.

Can you put the incubator in a small room with a dehumidifer or an air conditioner? That's the only way I can think that will reliably work.

Thanks, i think that will pretty much work because i have noticed that during rainy season humidity drops and am having a good hatch.

Hi!
Just thought you might find this useful. I live in Hawaii with similar temp and humidity as you and wrote this for another thread (May hatch-a-long). It does require watching the incubators closely and changing the sponges every 1-2 hours. So far it is keeping the humidity down for the black copper marans eggs I am incubating. Just an FYI if you wanted to try it next time.
Good luck!

So I FINALLY figured out how to get the humidity down. I have been working with this puzzle for 3 days now. I have a science background so it was driving me nuts that I could not solve this! Our family motto is "never give up". I tried the charcoal, didn't do much, I tried the salt/rice/baking soda, went up a little. So I thought I would try a dry sponge and it went UP 25%.:confused: Then I realized the packaged sponges that come in individual packs from COSTCO are a little moist when you unwrap them, so must have been the moisture in the sponge. I cut up the sponge into 3 pieces and "toasted" them in the toaster oven to dry them out. This WORKED, I can't believe it! Humidity promptly dropped 20%. I will monitor for several hours and see how I can adjust the humidity based on how many of these "sponges toasts" I place. So I wanted to share this with you out there on the forum. I am sure I am not the first person who has thought of this, but I am so excited it works. I cut up several more sponges and toasted them and put them in airtight containers, so they do not soak up the moisture in the air in the house and can switch them out with the ones in the incubator as needed.:)
