Too late in the year to get more day old chicks?

Well if there going to be that young defiantly keep them in the shed with a light they will have to be around 4 months then they can go outside with your pullets and rooster but introduce slowly as things can go wrong.

When you say they need to be 4 months old to go outside you mean mixed with the pullets....not by themshelves right? I think I took my pullets outside and left them outside at about 7 weeks old. Did I do that wrong?

7 weeks is fine and yes I mean't mixed with the pullets and you can take them out side before 4 months just don't put them out with the pullets before 4 months

Can I use shreaded paper? I have an unlimited supply of store ads, newspaper that I can shred. I was tho king of using it in my nesting boxes since it free.

Using shredded newspaper or another slick paper is not good because the chicks slip on the newspaper. This can cause problems with their legs.

You can brood them anywhere you want, as long as you are able to give them the set up and heat they need. I have brooded chicks in the house, garage, barn, corn crib, sheds, and even the chicken coop, if you can have a safe set up and heat source, you can brood chicks there. A watermelon type gaylord box works fine as long as you are careful to attach the heat light safely. Usually they will be OK totally without heat somewhere around 4-6 weeks depending on how fast they feather and the weather/temperature were you are.
You generally want to wait to put them together until they are close to the size of your other girls, I like to start integrating slowly at 8-12 weeks. Having them in separate pens beside each other is a good idea, that way they will get to know each other through the wire and that will help the process along. One inch chicken wire is fine for keeping chickens separate.
Well shredded newspapers/paper that has been run through a paper shredder can work for bedding, but it tends to be pretty dusty also, and it stinks fast if it gets wet. Be careful with paper though, as Bullitt mentioned, if it is too slick it will cause leg problems.
