Too many ducks?

I have two Rouen, two Muscovy, 4 Call Ducks, 2 Mallard, 1 Mallard/Rouen, 1 Mule Duck and 2 Khaki Campbell. I can't get any more because of space and feed costs. I repeat, I can't get any more because of space and feed costs, I repeat, I can't get any more because of space and feed costs. Sorry, I am in Ducks anonymous and I am still trying to not get any more, lol.

I am not sure this place is a good place for someone trying to limit their addiction to feathers... I am pretty sure we are a bunch of enablers

I don't have any bad habits except for ducks so all of my recreational money goes to them. They are eggzactly what I need. LOL

Just point out all the things you DON'T waste money on to anyone judging you...

Things like cocaine and heroin must get pretty pricey... And they do nothing to curb the slugs in the garden...

I currently have 35 ducks. Sometimes it does feel like too many such as when shopping at TSC or when cleaning poo off an egg layed in their night time pen, but when looking them over I don't see any that I'm willing to part with. Besides ducklings following a mother duck are really cute

Agreed, I sometimes think 'this is too many', but when my spouse says we can reduce the flock I am ready to stand in the door to the coop with a weapon to defend them. (I will chase anything away from the coop), I once saw a baby bear in front of the house and on instinct i ran to the coop and locked myself in with them, ready to fight the momma bear if she came after my babies. Of course she just called her baby to come to her and she never came near the coop. I guess bears know not to mess with chicken-keepers the same way humans know not to mess with baby bears I don't know what I could have done if she had come after the coop, except maybe get her in one direction while getting the girls to scatter. Glad I didn't have to figure it out.

I drive a school bus so I was thinking more along the lines of alcohol and cigarettes and those don't give me duck eggs for breakfast, lol.

I have the four Call ducks, Itsy, Bitsy, Teenie, and Weenie, Olivia and Oreo the two Muscovy, Ducky the Mallard/Rouen Drake, Buffy and Chocolate the Khaki Campbells, Lucky the Mule Duck, Tinker Bell and Ivy the Rouen Ducks and Sugar and Spice my Mallards. I love to hear other peoples names for theirs.

Khaki drake is peep
Their first 5 mixed babies are
Germ , beaker , dasher , nugget and hope
My Swedish are Smokey , stormy Diamond , s’mores and captain jack
My next offspring of pekin /khaki are
Emerald , treasure , chest and pearl
Captain was hatched at the same time and has been with these girls and so they all got names that went with a pirate theme
Diamond and s’mores came when they were about 6-8 weeks and are either the same age or slightly older by a week or two they have stuck with that crew
S’mores came from a blue Swedish mom and a silver Swedish dad and is a full buff colour
We have no idea how that happened as she doesn’t own any buff ducks
Must be in one of the moms genes somewhere
Her size and shape is a Swedish just her colour is unique for a Swedish duck

I loved your names for yours also. Thanks for saying you loved mine. Ducks are so unique and so much fun no matter what mess they make. I am the only person all of my friends know that own ducks and they love to talk about them to me. I guess that makes me unique also, lol.
