Too many nats

I have a broody hen and nats are engulfing her, how would I get rid of these nats.

Gnats can't fly well where the air is turbulent. Since she's sitting on a nest most of the time, train a fan so it is blowing across the front of her nest (not on her) to create a wind barrier so they can't reach her. There are a lot of things that people tout as repellents, but I'm not sure how safe those chemicals would be for eggs and chicks.
