In the Brooder
I have a flock of about 23 chickens and out of nowhere it seems like everything has gone wrong.
4 of them (my youngest about 3 months) have started popping this yellowy foamy poop. Nothing else seems wrong but that scares me.
A handful of them have been getting slightly crusty nostrils. And or yellowy wax on their heads. I picked some of the crust off one of their beaks and a bunch of thick yellowy snot came out when she breathed. A local farm store attendant told me I have to use something called Gallimycin so I bought some but haven't used it yet. I wanted to check here first. What are the problems that could occur with using this on egg layers?
ALL of them have lice. And a few of them have two different types of lice. I've DE'd them twice over the course of two weeks and cleaned their coop top to bottom. They seem to keep returning.
I noticed some of them have really fluffy feathers on their tails. I read that may be mites?
Why is this all happening at the same time and what do I do?
Would love some advice.
