Hi guys,
I have 4 polish roosters and I'm told that multiple chicks out of my new group are boys. How do you guys get rid of your roosters? Should I list them on Kijiji or see if I can give them away? I don't want to have to cull them, that's for sure.

See if any chicken owners you know want any/could take any. That way you know they have a good life.
Are they pure polish breeding quality? They are often sought after.
Are you 100% sure they are roos? definitely be sure first, don't give away possible hens!

100% sure they are roos. Thanks for replying! I'm not sure if they're pure polish breeding quality as I bought them from a local breeder. Would you be able to tell from a pic?

@Sulky Bantam 4 boys total. second boy is my Perogi, sweet as pie. I’d never give him away :love

Same situation here...so since now I'm quite attached to them, I am going to remodel the little original coop & will have 2 big coops LOL.
For now, 3 Roos are together with no hens, getting along, as they grew up together...so far so good.
There are 5 Roos now 6 mos old, but once they're separated, forget trying to put them back together. Or maybe it's their breed. The 2 Wyandottes do NOT want any other Roos with them. The Ameraucana Roo is a loverboy sweetheart, the RIR & Buff Orpington are tolerant, those are the 3 staying together for now.

I reached out to local chicken club, 4H & people into chickens & posted on here...of course no one needs a Roo, despite they're beautiful & pure bred. One guy offered $7 per bird...I had an awful suspicion he was thinking chicken & dumplings for dinner. Nope, I'm keeping the boys! I can pick them up, they sit on my lap as I pet them...this is their home & I love them.

How did I end up this way you may wonder?
Last winter, I wanted more hens, as my senior girls aren't getting any younger. I listened to someone that told me eggs very round at both ends (so round you can't even tell which is the fat end) they would be hens. So 2 sweet broody hens hatched 10 round eggs & I ended up with 5 hens & 5 Roos! So much for the round egg theory.

Oh my, they are so similar to Hektor and Achilles, our Polish Bantam boys (I love them , and would never let go of them. They are so sweet and know me so well.)!
First one looks really pure polish to me, right comb, stance and feathering. Harder to tell with the second, but look really similar so assuming yes too.
Third, also pure very similar too I wold say.
I presume the cream one is also a roo as you say, but it looks so hen-like from that angle!

Are any fighting, crowing?

Yep they look about 5-9 months old to me. A closer pic of the others would hep to tell for sure, but, especially the first one, purebred I would say! You could sell them for breeding I think, they are lovely- looking boys!

Kijiji or Craigslist are very good places to advertise free roosters, and it is best to meet somewhere public for the transaction, like a grocery store parking lot.

You can advertise free roosters in your local forum on BYC.

You can ask around and possibly post a note for free roosters at local feed or tractor stores.

Those are the best bets, as far as I know. Never hurts to ask neighbors with chickens if they want a rooster, either.
