Same situation here...so since now I'm quite attached to them, I am going to remodel the little original coop & will have 2 big coops LOL.
For now, 3 Roos are together with no hens, getting along, as they grew up together...so far so good.
There are 5 Roos now 6 mos old, but once they're separated, forget trying to put them back together. Or maybe it's their breed. The 2 Wyandottes do NOT want any other Roos with them. The Ameraucana Roo is a loverboy sweetheart, the RIR & Buff Orpington are tolerant, those are the 3 staying together for now.
I reached out to local chicken club, 4H & people into chickens & posted on here...of course no one needs a Roo, despite they're beautiful & pure bred. One guy offered $7 per bird...I had an awful suspicion he was thinking chicken & dumplings for dinner. Nope, I'm keeping the boys! I can pick them up, they sit on my lap as I pet them...this is their home & I love them.
How did I end up this way you may wonder?
Last winter, I wanted more hens, as my senior girls aren't getting any younger. I listened to someone that told me eggs very round at both ends (so round you can't even tell which is the fat end) they would be hens. So 2 sweet broody hens hatched 10 round eggs & I ended up with 5 hens & 5 Roos! So much for the round egg theory.
