We have 6 chicks, they are about 5 weeks old now. I believe they are white leghorns or white rocks.
I think most of them are roosters. Leave it to my luck, to pick out 6 straight run (supposed to be 50/50) and get 5 roosters, lol.
So now we are waiting to make sure. I wonder how long will it be before we know for sure? ...and if I am right, what do I do with 5 roosters? I may be interested in keeping *one* maybe.
We won't eat them. If I put them on Craigs list for free will someone take them?

...do leghorns or white rocks have a large comb reguardless of gender? They are orange combs. I can post a picture, but right now I am more interested in 'hatching' a plan on what to do with 5 roosters

My first experience raising chicks was last spring. I was positive our 3 White Leghorn hens were roosters...they have big red floppy combs and big tails. Two of them started laying before the other one, so I thought for certain we had 1 rooster. Then we started getting 3 eggs a day.

Maybe if you post some pics that would help.

Here's a head shot of one of the girls.

I hope so too!
I can't remember exactly how old they were when they started laying. We got them around April 12 when they were a few days old and I think they started laying sometime in late July or August.

Wow! We might have a similar issue. So far out of the first three chicks I got straight run, I'm pretty sure 2 are roosters. We just added to straight run silkies yesterday, so we'll see. It would be my luck to have all roosters and one pullet
