Too Much Ventilation??

We have built a 12x6 chicken coop all from scraps.
All new (except 1) heat treated pallets and semi rusty tin roof that’s been on the property.
We live in central Arkansas where we’ve already had a heat index over 100.
I’ve beat into my husbands head that we are going to need a TON of ventilation due to the extreme heat and humidity
Now I’m worried we have too much ventilation as we’re going through and starting to screen.
We have 30sqft of ventilation just under the tops of the roof not counting in the steep arch which will all be permanent.
I have cut out sections of the pallets to make larger “windows” we are considering covering the smaller area between the planks with wood and just screening in the larger open sections.

Did we create too much ventilation??

We currently have 5 cockerels but plan to probably only keep 2 since we have a small flock of 13 Pullets. I know “small” isn’t what some people would say but we did have 27 before an attack so only 18 total is pretty small to us.
We plan to cover some windows during cold weather but the roof area will always remain open.
I did my best to make cross breezes as well.

We still have places to patch up and cover of course this is just a question of ventilation 😅

They will be fine especially if you have mild winters.
They have been mild except we received a freak snow storm this last winter and had mountains of snow and couldn’t leave our house hardly. However that’s the first time since 1980 that we had weather like that so if that happens again we can always cover ventilation and run the brooder/heat plate out there on an extension cord.

In hot summer weather there's no such thing as too much ventilation.

In the winter you might want to shelter the windward side(s) with tarp or removable panels. Chickens can take the cold as long as they stay dry and don't have wind ruffling their feathers.
They are free range during the day so maybe I’m just really over thinking it the only time they will be in there is from 9pm-9am
