Too old to caponize?

I have a 16 month old rooster who used to be sweet as pie, but is now an aggressive jerk. I've tried several methods listed here to change his behavior, with no luck. I'm not the kind of person to cull him, and I don't need him to protect the flock or fertilize eggs. I'm thinking caponing might be a good solution, but I wonder if he is too old at this point. I don't know...

Any thoughts?

Thank you

YES! You have to do that before 6 weeks I do believe. He's not being a jerk, he is a teenager full of hormones that are telling him find girls. They are mean nasty and some have no idea what they are doing and go around doing chicken rape. Those roosters go down the road to the Amish farm. He should calm down after a month or so. But if not make dog food.

He's been like this for much longer than a month. He was like this since late winter. He used to be such a marshmallow.. Dog food is not in his future. :)

My mistake I misread. I thought it said 16 weeks. I don't keep mean roosters. It is no good for me or the hens. There are polite roosters. Good Luck. I hope it works out.
