Too weird! What do you make of this?!

Well I have never seen that type of feather in that location so its just some oddity I guess.
Hoping some of our other Sebastopol owners will jump in with their opinions.

Beautiful!

So get this...went I went out to do
chores and the 2 dark feathers are no longer there!
Do you suppose its possible that two loose feathers got stuck there???
How on earth could 2 feathers just land on her neck and stick there for a period of time without falling out?!?

AND how could they just randomly get there on their own?!
What are the chances?
It's gonna be one of those strange mysteries I guess.
Gee for awhile there I thought I had some weird mutation.
Well... it was fun while it lasted.

Didn't you say back in post #6 of this thread that they weren't glued on and were real? I got the impression that you had actually checked?

OK... Now that they are gone I want to point out that to me it looks like the feathers are upside down..... The underside is up isn't it. And if you look very closely, the feathers around the neck look a bit "up" in a perfect ring around the neck. My theory is that someone either tied them there, or had them on an elastic thread.

Cottage Rose if you aren't in on the joke, then someone is having one on you.

But it was great fun

, and wouldn't it be great if they really grew like that. You could breed for that and make a million. Oh well

Trust me...there's nobody here that would do that.
My husband rarely goes put by the birds unless he's
with me to help with something occasionally and isn't
a practical joker and besides...this goose is very shy
and nobody but me can get near it.
Like I said...I guess it will be a always be mystery.
