Hello,

I have a chicken that seems to have gone broody, she is sitting on about 4 eggs, which I know aren’t all hers. She’s been there since early morning.

She is a chicken that just stated laying eggs, so she is only 6-7 months old, my question is she too young to be broody?

i know it’s really hard on their bodies, so would it be better to let her be when she is a little older?

She personally is pretty quiet in her nest, but she’ll call over the rooster and he can be mean, not with me, he knows better.

Okay. Well looking at the breed , they are prone to being broody, and a lot of the time means those ones are good moms. Also this is the age where breeds like that go broody for their fist time. But do your reaserch on a flighty broody hen, or like how to make sure you have a good broody hen. And if you want her to hatch out eggs just make sure she is in a safe spot if she is being bullied. But it is all up to you weather you want her to hatch out.
