too young for grit???

p.s. I also put the apple cider vinegar in the bird bath outside, as soon the kids will be out there with the wild ones and it'll keep your wild brds healthy too :) We have wild turkeys here and I am concerned they might *share* some of their poultry diseases with my kids so it can't hurt to add alittle just in case to any outdoor waters. Once the kids are outside, I am sure the lure of food will attract many other birds
 
I've read your post about impacted crop. Unfortunately the only real cure I've read about is water. I've purchased some weak chicks not drinking & saved them by placing a drop of water on the tip of their beak spending about 10+ minutes on it. Never forcing water. After time they will come to the medicine dropper without holding them. I've actually had chicks fight for it. I thought for a time I would have to get a hamster waterer. Just keep giving it water
