Yes, moulting - unless it is replacing feathers that had been pulled out.

Would a handful of BOSS a day help? I haven't been feeding them anything but laying crumbles. Do they need more protein? I could pick up some BOSS.

I have 5 girls, 3 Wyndottes and 2 Orpintons. One of the Wyndottes molted at the beginning of October and I waited for the other 4 to begin. No such luck! Instead here on the 15th of December their biological clocks go off and they are molting

It is a rather mild start to the winter here in Vermont but I worry about them as it will be getting colder anytime now. How long does it usually take then start to finish??? I'm not even worried about not getting any eggs, I just don't want them to freeze. Does any one have any advice to speed up the process?
