Would anyone like to have a young rooster? I don't think that I would be willing to give it away until its foster mum thinks that it can make it on its own when it gets a little bit older shouldn't be to much longer :|

Hi,
I appreciate the responses, but I was wondering how everyone can tell that its a boy? For, some people it seems completely obvious, NOT for ME!!!

comb and wattles devolop fairly early with roosters. This is just an example.

this is a pic of my 13 week old's comb:

this is her at almost 4 weeks:

Do you see how she has almost no wattles, and a small, yellow comb? Your cockerel already has wattles and a pinkish comb. Even at 3 weeks!

Your Silky looks like a girl to me also as her comb and wattles are smallish. How old is she?

Our Silkies turned 23 weeks old on Monday and out of 5, we know that 2 are boys because they're crowing/have major combs/wattles and they are bigger bodied than the girls, 2 are girls because of the eggs they're laying but we still have one that hasn't crowed or laid us an egg yet. I suspect it's a she just because she's smaller than the boys, yet her comb and wattles are bigger than the other 2 girls, but not as big and pronounced as the boys'. Gotta love Silkies...
