Took two eggs out from under my broody...she wasn't doing a good job.

I put some eggs under a first time broody last week, and after a few days I ended up taking the 2 remaining eggs out. She kept kicked the eggs out from under her, they got holes poked in them, and other birds were coming in and eating the cracked eggs! Broody disaster.

The two remaining eggs sat in my back room for half a day before I decided to just put them in the incubator. I set it up and let it run for a few hours, then put them in. It's been running around 100-101 instead of 99.5 but I didn't think the eggs had survived anyway...

I just candled them and there is great veining and slight movement in both of them!

But...I have no idea what day they are on, so I won't know when to increase the humidity.

Also, the veins and the movement are limited to half of the egg...vertically. The other side is totally clear. Does that mean they are stuck because they weren't turned enough at first, when they were under the broody? I put them back in the bator with the veined side up (I think) so hopefully that might help.

Any words of advice?

I can't help much. But good luck with them. And keep us updated. After reading I see you said they only sat for half a day. They may be ok. I would check them in about 5 more days when you see the egg is full I would increase the humidity and stop turning. And check the air cell to see if it has got bigger that may help. Do you have a fan in the bator? If not then the temp should be 100-101. Sending good vibes your way.
