Bobcats are a protected species here in NH. I had never seen one before this winter. I wonder if the fact I have chickens is the reason they are coming so close to the house, now? I'm guessing- YES. They're pretty shy and will avoid humans if they can, though. They're just spooky because they are there one second and then the next second just disappear without seeming to move at all.
