I noticed on one of my teen hens(6-7 mo) that her top beak has a split in it. I will try to get a picture of it today.I am wondering if I should use some nail polish/glue on the outside of the beak to slow/stop the spreading. Maybe clip it off if it is not to far in that nerves would be cut.I am hoping the beak is like my pets nails and I can trim a nerveless tip.
Is the split beak a food deficiency or a possible injury? I did notice a splatter of blood last week, but was not able to find any injuries on the hens. The old and new hens still peck at each other.
