I love that little half crest, especially on the hens.

I'm outcrossing for that on my next batch of chicks, it's awfully handy during a Minnesota winter not to have a frozen comb. Plus they're so darn cute!

Very poor Polish, I agree with the post that said mixed with Leghorn. They probably put a Polish Roo over Leghorn hens to get more eggs. Not really sure why, Polish are pretty good layers themselves... Some places do anything to turn a profit though.

I'm almost positive they came from Ideal. My feedstore does all their business with Ideal. The chikcs were even in the box from Ideal Poultry. I don't mind having these mutts. They are very good looking and have a great disposition.

I am surprised at the size of the eggs I am getting. They are just as big as my RIR's and maybe even bigger. They are a light cream color.
