Top layer of my roo's beak has been broken off

I also want to thank you both for posting this. My Svart hona injured the top layer of her beak too. No blood and a little closer but she’s having the same trouble pecking at food as you mentioned. Around same age as well. I’ve read horrible things like culling might be necessary so I’m going to stick to what you did and hope for the best. Thanks again!
 
Thank you for posting this! My little hen is missing some of the outer layer of her beak as well. Poor girl had fowl pox, is molting, and now this!! I will try your first aid techniques. Thank you again for posting this- I couldn’t find any of info on it. THANKYOU!

Rest assured it will grow back! It’s happened to my rooster twice.
