Hi pls help if possible,(not a emergency) the top of my ducks bills are look flakey dry and wrinkled. Their feet are similarly dry. It doesn’t seem to bother them but it confuses me . They constantly have deep water and eat organic layer feed with separate baked egg shell crumbles for a optional supplement. I have googled to no answer . Does anyone know what this is and how to fix/put back it ? My drake has it the worst so I will post his bill below (the girls bills are just wrinkled no dry) thanx for any help ~ Cassie

Is there feeder wide and open to allow eating without scraping it along the edge?

Mild xerosis of the bill is not uncommon in ducks and is often simply indicative of dry environmental conditions. If the temperatures in your area are above freezing, you could apply an ointment to the area to help reduce the dryness, but it's likely it'll get washed fairly quickly.

Their feeder is not too open but it’s not deep enough for it to scratch the top of there bills . I think it could be the humidity cause it has been dry sense the bills started . It’s below freezing but I can give them baths in the house and apply a little ointment then .

Thank you so much for the help ♥️ ~ Cassie
