Top of the run collapsed in the storm.....ugh....

We had a storm come through saturday into sunday. Power is still out for thousands of people. The snow load was too much for the top of the run and it collapsed. I keep telling the chickens when i open them up in the morning to run quick if they see a hawk!

I guess i know what I am doing this weekend!

Wow, Beth, you're the second person who had this happen. I just read where another member had a tree fall on his run. He was also in this bad weather.

Makes me glad I live in Ohio right now........You hang in there! I soooo hate it when the power is out. We are all electric, which means we have no heat, no water.....TERRIBLE. We just had a wood burning stove put in this spring, so the heat problem is solved. We've got a small generator, so we can have a few lights and television and run the fridge. We store water in empty 2 liter bottles so we can flush the toilets, wash dishes and brush our teeth......

Pain in the tushy though....You can't shower....We all migrate to friend's homes to do that.
