Topic of the Week - Sexing Chicks

Some days I think it's a girl other days a boy . I guess the mystery will continue till there's an egg or a crow , or atleast for a few more weeks . It's the younger of the two by about 24hours and looks like it's a frizzle so that's just confusing things more . But so far everyone seems to be in agreement that the light one is a female

Usually once awhile I will hatch a batch of chicks or order them and all of the ones that I think are girls always turn out to be boys and the ones I think are boys always turn out to be girls.

The boys end up being dominant and territorial when they usually hit about 2 3 or 4 weeks is how I know.

I did try , Luna wing looked like a girl and Mardi like a boy, but apparently because they are mixed breeds it may not work . But Mardi confirmed he was a boy yesterday by crowing at 6am , at just 18 days old . https://instagram.com/p/BebN1rXhHLa/
This is Luna's little wing on her hatch day. It's kinda hard to see in the photo but she had the girly double row going on so

Oh I hope not. That washatch day . I did take any more photos after the first day because I thought the dads where silkie cross and people told me you could wing sex silkies , so I stopped looking .
