I saw the episode where they went to a local "farm" to visit with the kids - petting zoo kind of thing - and they saw the silkies and the baby goats and had to get some. The kids picked out their favorite chickens. I think they ended up with three. They had them in the house for awhile. Tori was concerned she'd killed it because I think it tried to fly and she dropped it. Then it started "singing". It was quite funny.

I realize some hollywood types would be doing it for a gag, but I think she genuinely wanted to have them because her kids were so enamored with them. And heck, those chickens live better than I do!

I remember the episode where they got the chickens. They discussed how taking care of them would be educational for their kids. They asked a lot of questions at the farm. I don't think this is like Paris Hilton and her purse puppies.
I know I have have a rooster (my avatar) who would love to be carried around all day. He loves people and attention. He has even made a point of introducing himself to all of the neighbors.

Totally agree. I have watched the show on and off over the past couple years. They seem just as baffled as me! LOL! Not all the nannies and hired help running around. I think they are as close to "real" considering, that anyone in that town can be.
