Torn ACL.....

OMG... I didnt know MayMay meant that..... and she is my 'little sister'

I am going to have to give her a bath here REAL soon.... i am just laughing thinking about it. She has some problems with grooming from her beak being messed up. I had to do it last year and we had a ball. Well, I did anyway. I will be fine as long as the snow doesnt really start here. i can hobble down to the coop not a problem i dont think. its only 100 feet away. here's MayMays bath... you should be able to get a giggle out of it.....

Uh, Momma, I would rather be a 'fried chicken' than take a bath.

I hope you get better!!!! I did the same thing to my knee about 8 years ago.

But at least your chix are keeping you company.

I tore my acl and inner knee cartlige, did it twice within the last year. Get a rolling walker with the built in seat. You can use it to carry the food and all in as you roll around to do chores. Or use one of the crutches, I used both methods with good results. good luck and a speedy recovery

well, I was supposed to have surgery but I don't have insurance so I can't afford it.
So my knee healed improperly so.. yes.. every single day for the past 8 years it hurts. Especially going up stairs.
I was in a full leg cast boot thing (like you have kinda) for 4 months and I did rehab for 6 months. I was on crutches from Nov 2002 to about April 2003.

Verdict is is..... Torn MCL (the ligament that is on the inside of your leg), torm ACL ( its in 4 pieces believe it or not) and a few more tears in the Meniscus. GRRRRRRR

They put me in a leg brace for the next 4 weeks to heal the MCL tear with no surgery. THEN we get to go in and replace the ACL and shave off the meniscus tears. yippy joy joy!

good news?

I can get down to the girls for the next 4 weeks as long as i am careful. Then when they do the replacement, i am off my feet for a week, and then can hobble down there. (yea...... RIGHT!!!!!) i will be down there the next day via 4 wheeler.
