On the BYC Facebook Group, this bird was attacked and most of its wing is gone besides a few feathers and the bone. I know there is a chance of saving her, but a lot of people just want to cull it. I've seen much much worse survive.
My question is, what would the extent of the pain really be for this bird? As in, I know ducks have no feet nerves, so they don't feel pain. I know that the side of a chicken also has a small amount of nerves. But what about the wing? And is there anything I should tell this person to help their bird? Scarlex oil, blue kote, amputation, and a vet have already been heavily suggested.
