Sorry about the loss of your flock, but kudos on taking such good care of your remaining hen. Really nice job healing that wound. Is medical honey the same thing as manuka honey?
Yes, it is. Except it's been sterilized and is medical grade. Here is a photo of her wound as of Saturday night.

Hey there!
So sorry to hear you lost your flock :hugs Raccoons are nasty creatures sometimes.
Looks like the honey is doing absolute wonders! That's amazing. I've used honey to help treat bumblefoot after surgery and it helped. Another thing I reccomend is Collodial Silver. Despite people who'll say bad about this stuff, it worked really well. Not only do I use it on myself, on wounds and ingesting it for immune support, I use it on my animals for their wounds.

I buy it on Amazon, but I think it can be bought in stores? Not sure. There are other brands out there as well, but this is the one I use. Spray it on the wound twice a day until it heals. Just my input! Hope it goes well for you.

You've done an incredible job! What a lucky hen, not only to survive the attack, but to have such a brave owner committed to her care! Great work by the equine vet too that put her under for the surgery, I understand that can be risky! Hopefully she is doing ok with the isolation and will get some new sisters soon.

How’s your hen doing now.? Does she seem to still have quality of life missing a wing? I only ask since my duck just lost her wing this morning - and I’m worried for her future
