Thank you Silkelovr! I appreciate it!

I hope it fades out before it comes my way. I'm close to Fairview hts, Il. It's in St. Clair County. I'm east of St. Louis, Mo just over the Mississippi River.

I didn't even know we were in a tornado watch earlier! Now I can't sleep, and I have an 8 am class!

We are just now getting some kinda scary weather my way. Everyone, you are in my prayers.

I lived in Kansas for 2 years, and then the Texas panhandle for one, so i'm glad to finally be out of tornado country. We had one when I lived in KS that just took down fences and trees, and some rooves, but that was enough for me. The sound is terrifying. Last spring our SAR group went to Cactus, TX to search the aftermath for anyone trapped, and it was the closest thing i've ever experience to hell on earth. It must have tripled my fear of tornadoes seeing the damage that was done, and at the time we were living in a mobile home with no shelter. It was so surreal too, we were the first people in after it hit along with the fire department, and it was a perfectly calm warm day but everything was destroyed. A car had hit a water tower 50 feet in the air, there was tin everywhere hanging from powerlines and just waiting to fall, and 4 trailers where one had been, all flattened. There were stray dogs (mostly pitbulls) running loose everywhere, and you never knew where one was going to come out from next. There was one poor old dog that I think had the luckiest day of his life when the tornado hit. He'd obviously been neglected for a long time, his eyes were infected and he was like a rake. Luckily animal control took him away. There were sofas in the middle of wheatfields, 300 yards from the nearest house. It was creepy the things that hadn't been moved too. Houses would be missing walls and rooves, but their pictures would still be hanging on the remaining walls and flowers still in vases. My SAR friends were amused when a blonde moment hit me though. I went into one trailer, and said "why on earth would you put linoleum on your ceiling?" It was upside down.
